Mission:
Nevada County Citizens for Choice believes that every woman, man and teen deserves reproductive justice: The ability to make educated choices about their reproductive lives and health, and access to the affordable care they need.

Founded:  1992

Purpose:
We recognized a need in our community for unbiased, informative family planning and access to reproductive health care. We felt that choice – the choice to have children or not – and when – is an absolute right for all people.

Funding:
Individual donors, grants, events

How CNL has helped our organization:
Our Board members have learned how to improve their skills as volunteer Board members, how to fundraise, manage volunteers, and remain optimistic about the challenges of nonprofit work in our rural county. At the CNL workshops we network, learn from our peers, and the presenters. The materials are a very useful resource. We love CNL!

Nevada County Citizens for Choice Success Story:
Besides providing reproductive health care to over thousands of Nevada County residents since 2006, we also distribute free condoms throughout the community. We participate annually in Reproductive Freedom Day at the Capitol, by bringing local delegates from the community to lobby for our cause.
