Mission & Purpose:
Sierra Nevada Children’s Services (SNCS) enriches the community by supporting  quality child care and empowering families to aspire to lifelong success. SNCS provides resources and childcare referrals to all families and offers a childcare subsidy to those who qualify based on income.  By providing childcare support, families are able to rise out of poverty, continue gainful employment, and pursue educational goals. In 2019,  SNCS celebrates 40 years of  serving families and early childhood professionals in Nevada and Sierra Counties! A variety of resources and child development opportunities are offered, including: The Learning Center (play space and lending library), play-groups, childcare provider and parent workshops, events and family socials.

Success Story:
One of our clients said: “My family moved to the area and needed childcare for our three young children. We heard about SNCS and made an appointment. They searched their database of childcare based on our requirements and saved our family tons of time and money looking for the right childcare situation. Within a week of moving here, we found a match.”

How our organization benefits from being a member of CNL:
CNL has benefited us with a number of quality workshops and furthered our  networking opportunities with other local nonprofits.

How to get involved: SNCS has a variety of volunteer opportunities for those who wish to be part of the team. Volunteering at events, assisting with clerical tasks and mailings are just some of the ways volunteers have been involved at SNCS.
