The Return to Work & Work Place Safety During COVID-19 workshop provides a framework for understanding and implementing coronavirus mitigation guidelines set by the state of California and the CDC. The training will focus on core health and safety principles like the hierarchy of hazard control and risk assessment and will tie these concepts into practical applications for your return to work strategy.

Our presenter, Steven Dilbert is on loan from our sister organization in Sacramento, the Impact Foundry. Steven holds a master’s degree in Occupational Safety and brings with him a decade of managerial experience from the corporate world. He has worked in the fields of environmental health and safety, security, emergency management, and risk management. He began volunteering for the Impact Foundry in 2019, after his move to Sacramento, and joined their team in March 2020.
Steven will provide the following:
- CA Industry Guidance Requirements that call for a Worksite Safety Policy
- Basic health and safety principles regarding the hierarchy of hazard control (what hazard controls are most and least effective)
- Attendees will learn complete a risk assessment. This process teaches how to identify hazards and apply the controls learned in the hierarchy
- Attendees will understand how hazard control and risk assessment helps to write a worksite safety policy
- Steven will share practical examples of potential hazards in an office or work setting and the applicable type of hazard control, reinforcing the process taught
- The training will also cover the other 4 CA Industry Guidance requirements and how they are all part of a worksite safety policy

By tying all of these concepts together Steven helps the attendee understand what the Worksite Safety Policy requirement is and what the steps are to complete it
