Mission & Purpose:
The Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital (SNMH) Foundation touches and saves lives every day by helping the SNMH deliver superior healthcare. We support outreach programs, education, state-of-the-art technology and facilities through philanthropy and volunteerism.
Success Story:
In early 2019, more than 75,000 western Nevada County residents will have access to life-saving, state-of-the-art infusion therapy at Dignity Health Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. Because of our community’s generosity, SNMH Foundation donated $275,000 toward this $1+ million project bringing medical care, peace of mind, and comfort to more than 9,500 patients a year, many of whom must have infusions daily or weekly. The Center will ultimately be available for treatment of a variety of conditions, including: cancer, anemia, multiple sclerosis, asthma, osteoporosis, liver disease, deep vein thrombosis, dehydration, kidney disease, genetic diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, and many more. Identifying the most critical health needs for our community, and working hand in hand with the hospital to ensure you can get exceptional care close to home, is what we do.
How CNL has helped our Organization:
CNL workshops offer cost effective, high quality training for our board and staff that would not be possible otherwise. As a result, we have put many “best practices” into place and have learned many new processes and techniques. However, that reflects only one area of CNL’s impact. Our involvement has also provided many opportunities for networking and collaborations that have been very beneficial to us and the community. And now through the website, we will have access to information on many important topics without having to search on our own.
How to get involved:
We would love to have anyone interested in our philanthropic work or in volunteering join us in support of the SNMH. We welcome your donation to an area of our hospital that is near and dear to your heart, invite you to attend our events, donate a vehicle, make a purchase at our gift shop or consider an annual donation! Volunteers are at the heart of our work and we offer opportunities to participate regularly or occasionally. W welcome volunteers for office work, mailings, events, and/or to serve as an Ambassador, become a member of our Auxiliary, or potentially serve on a committee. Please call (530) 477-9700 or visit our website for more information.
