Mission & Purpose:
The mission of Nevada County Grown is to strengthen the connection between local agricultural producers and the larger community. We are dedicated to supporting and celebrating our local food culture and culinary arts. We market locally grown agricultural products and educate the community about the importance of supporting local agricultural producers. Annually, we produce the Food & Farm Guide to connect the community to specific type of producers and where they can purchase their Nevada County grown products. We also collaborate with other organizations and agencies to promote local agriculture and agritourism, engaging in public outreach and education to the larger community.

Success Story:
Our annual Food & Farm Guide has become a “must have” for those interested in the local food movement. It offers interesting and timely articles as well as an easy guide and map to find what is available in a particular growing season. We help consumers, local restaurants, farmers markets and grocery stores, to quickly and easily navigate the county to purchase locally grown food!

How our organization benefits from CNL Membership:
Although our organization has been board-driven for a decade, we have just hired our first Executive Director (E.D.) . Our hope is to have guidance from CNL to create policies around E.D. and Board duties and relationships.

How to get involved:
Please contact us at the social media addresses above. We offer multiple levels for Nevada County Producer involvement in our organization. We also offer marketing opportunities for businesses in our Food & Farm Guide, as well as sponsorship levels for various events such as Bounty of the County.
