What is your mission and purpose?
Anew Day is a faith-based organization that provides healing and hope through lay counseling and professional counseling for those who are hurting. services for those who are hurting. We provide a safe environment, giving clients hope, direction and the skills and tools necessary to cope with today’s pain and successfully manage tomorrow’s struggles.
Success Story: How our organization benefits the community
Anew Day has contributed significantly to the reduction in California’s per capita suicide rate. Although we cannot claim that we are directly responsible for this reduction, we are one of the organizations that has contributed to helping people in despair find new meaning in life, reducing the Nevada County rate in 2006 of first, to a rate of 17th in 2017.
Jess, one of Anew Days clients, is just one person, but her story is emblematic of the trauma faced by our clients. Six years after a traumatic assault and rape, Jess reached out to Anew Day, telling her story for the first time to a supportive counselor, confronting the damage that had been done to her emotionally, and discussing its impact on her new marriage. As a result of working with her counselor and taking the necessary emotional risks, Jess has shared her story with her husband, instilling a new love in their relationship and prompting a new hopeful outlook on her life as a whole.
