This 90-minute online workshop will explore some of these complexities and provide practical resources and decision-making tools to help identify if a grant opportunity is appropriate for your organization to pursue and/or accept. Topics covered include: properly vetting a grant opportunity, the “real cost” of grants, contingency funds, and financially encumbering your organization.

#2 Basics of Application Writing

To be competitive in the grant world the funder must be an excellent fit for the organization’s mission and specific program goals. Then, one has to effectively communicate that fit in a way that follows the funder’s guidelines and specifically addresses their questions. Often, that is easier said than done, especially with the variety of questions proposals may ask and answer length restrictions. This 90 minute online workshop will address the need to specifically follow prompts, the value of clearly communicating purpose, goals, objectives and outcomes as well as tips and tricks for dos and don’ts. Also addressed will be some de-mystification around budgets and budget narratives.

We Got the Grant, Now What?

Ideally, this first yes will turn into a long and fruitful relationship–you’re helping a funder achieve their goals in addition to them helping you. Stewarding that funder as you would a valued donor is essential to creating that positive, long-term relationship–explore how in this 90 minute online workshop. Delivering on your programmatic promises is one way to do that–we’ll explore best practices for multi-year grant fund management to ensure you can continue to deliver, even into years two, three, and beyond with strong financial planning. But often equally as important is proper invoicing, as well as timely and compelling reporting.
